A CTS Initiative for the Activating of a Cultural Wellness Community Hub located in North Oakland.
At Create The Space, we're powering the development of culturally rooted restoration and healing spaces in neighborhoods where Black men live, lead, and love. Our first official hub centers emotional wellness, creative expression, and restorative gathering as core public health interventions—anchored in trust, not bureaucracy.
Located in the heart of North Oakland at 3851 Market Street, Oakland we hope to establish Create The Space Cultural Wellness Community Hub as an integral thread in the Oakland fabric. Won't you come build with us!?

This isn't just a venue—it's a vessel. Our Hub is home to deep healing, cultural expression, and radical restoration. It's a multi-use, community-forward space designed for Black brilliance, breath, and belonging.

We believe wellness infrastructure belongs in our own backyards. Our location in North Oakland was intentional: near where generations have marched, created, and organized for Black freedom.

rooting in
preliminary renovations complete. our front sign raised, and the first garden beds planted.

membership activation
soft launch. community programming begins, and the “raise the roof” community build kicks off.

growing programs
the inner work project revamped, the community tender established, and programs running weekly.
summer 2025
beautification
the hub beautification project, and a recommitment to our voice and values.
jul 2025 – may 2026
redesign & build-out
interior redesign completed, a second entryway built, and our technology platform developed for members, guests, and clients.

grand opening
our grand opening potluck — the doors are open, and the space is fully alive.
