Work It Out Wednesday
a Black men's discussion and support group addressing the challenges Black men face in our lives today.
the ritual
what happens in the circle.
five movements. each week the same shape, different texture β a container men can come back to without having to explain themselves.
opening grounding
we arrive in silence and breath. each man invited to settle, root, and release the noise of the world.
somatic sound
we begin with a rhythm, beat, or vibration β something to remind us we are more than words.
check-in circle
one by one, we speak. not to fix. just to feel. to be witnessed in our truth, unmasked and uninterrupted.
theme practice
each week we center on a theme β grief, joy, legacy, boundaries β and explore through dialogue and somatic awareness.
collective reflection
what emerged? what was held? what's worth carrying forward? we close in reflection, not resolution.
witness
voices from the circle.
"it was the first time i cried in front of other men β and didn't feel weak for it."β Michael P.
"this circle is church, therapy, and homeboy check-in β all in one."β Trey S.
"i didn't know i needed this until i sat down. i haven't missed a wednesday since."β Caprice R.
